Supporting Shelters. Strengthening Communities.

Sandra Kiehm

Founded in 2023, Fido’s Future Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with offices in Connecticut and Florida. We’re dedicated to strengthening animal welfare efforts by providing vital resources to select shelters and rescue organizations across both states.

Our mission is simple: no animal should suffer due to neglect, unsafe conditions, or overcrowding. Through targeted events fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement, and educational programs, we help shelters grow, sustain, and thrive.

More than fundraisers, we’re partners in progress—offering hands-on support in marketing, events, board development, compliance, and community outreach. We also advocate for responsible pet ownership and the life-changing value of adoption.

Together, we’re building a brighter future for rescue dogs—one shelter, one community, one life at a time.

Granting Hope. Empowering Impact.

Fido’s Future Foundation provides targeted financial support to animal shelters and organizations dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming dogs and cats. Our grant recipients receive not only funding—but compassionate, hands-on support to strengthen their capacity and impact.

We prioritize efforts that reduce homelessness, prevent neglect, and promote responsible pet ownership. In addition to supporting animal shelters, we may also fund canine-assisted wellness initiatives and emergency relief programs in communities in need.

Whether through our own programs or by empowering others on the front lines, we’re committed to creating lasting, community-centered change for dogs and the people who care for them.

Our Approach to Grant Funding

At Fido’s Future Foundation, we believe that strong shelters save more lives. That’s why our Grants Program is designed to support IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) animal shelters and organizations in Connecticut and Florida that demonstrate transparency, measurable outcomes, and a proven track record of compassionate care.

Grant submissions are accepted twice a year—in June (deadline April 30th) and December (deadline October 30th)—to ensure timely and strategic support for shelters and animal welfare programs when they need it most.

Thanks to the generous support of Fido’s Future Foundation, the Dog Lovers Club at Kings Point was able to make improvements to our  Dog Park in our senior community by upgrading our grass walkway to a durable concrete path and adding benches to better accommodate individuals with physical challenges and mobility needs for our seniors who have dogs. Thus enabling them to continue to use the park and keep their dedicated canine partners.
